Virat Kohli scored 49 runs in the RCB vs LSG game.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by five wickets in the Indian Premier League 2026 on Wednesday, April 15. RCB veteran opener Virat Kohli featured as an impact player in the match.
Kohli suffered an ankle injury while batting in the previous game against the Mumbai Indians (MI). Due to the injury, he did not take the field in the second innings. The injury did not affect his batting against LSG as he scored a brilliant knock.
The right-handed batsman scored 49 runs off 34 balls in the RCB vs LSG clash. After Phil Salt was dismissed cheaply, Virat helped the team get a powerful start. He was the highest run-scorer as RCB chased down the target in just 15.1 overs.
Virat Kohli provides an update on his fitness

After the match, Virat revealed that he was not 100% fit. He also added that he would like to finish the matches for his team in the upcoming matches.
“Much better than the last game. I’m still not 100%. My knee was a bit sore last game. Even health-wise, I’ve been under the weather for four or five days now. So, just getting back up to my best. I started off well today, so I was happy with my intensity,” he said.
“Again, would have liked to carry on and finish the game off. Sometimes you have to take the conditions into account as well. The pitch slowed down considerably and I just wanted to probably keep going in the same manner. But yeah, in the end, should have probably finished that one off as well,” he added.
With his knock, Kohli has become the leading run-scorer in IPL 2026 with 228 runs and owns the Orange Cap. RCB registered their fourth win in the tournament and have lost just one out of five matches.
Moreover, the defending champions have moved to the top of the IPL 2026 points table with eight points. They will next clash with the Delhi Capitals (DC) on April 18.
