Virat Kohli scored 27 runs before getting dismissed by Ishant Sharma in the IPL 2024.

In match No. 62 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are taking on Delhi Capitals (DC) in a must-win encounter at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on Sunday, May 12.

After being asked to bat first, Bengaluru openers Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis provided a quick start for the hosts as they reached 23/0 in the first two overs. However, Delhi’s speedster Mukesh Kumar provided a much-needed breakthrough as he dismissed RCB skipper du Plessis for six runs.

With the Capitals looking to pick up more wickets in the powerplay, stand-in skipper Axar Patel brought Ishant Sharma into the attack to bowl the third over of the first innings.

On the very first delivery, Kohli edged the ball, but it was well wide of the wicket-keeper and it went for a boundary. Following the boundary, Kohli was seen sledging and having banter with the bowler Ishant Sharma. On the very next delivery, the 35-year-old Kohli then hammered a huge six towards the wide long-on.

On the fourth ball of the over, Ishant had the last laugh as he dismissed the dangerous Kohli. The DC pacer bowled a fuller delivery outside the off-pole, and Kohli looked to drive without his feet. But he edged the ball, and it went straight towards Abhishek Porel.

After the dismissal, Ishant tried to give it back to Virat in a sportive manner, which even Virat took with a smile while walking back to the dugout. Both the Indian greats shared a healthy banter.
