Virat Kohli vs Gambhir fight: "If you can give it, you've got to take it," Kohli takes a jibe at Gambhir
Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir were at each other's throats after the LSG v RCB match
Virat Kohli has kept up the ante in his ongoing tiff with Gautam Gambhir which started in the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) IPL 2023 match on May 1, 2023, which was played at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium.
Gambhir and Kohli had gotten into a verbal altercation after they had shook hands in an aggressive way after RCB defeated LSG by 18 runs despite making 126/9 batting first and then restricted LSG to 108 runs.
The LSG vs RCB re-match was different. It brought out the ultra-aggressive, feisty side of Kohli. The reason? Lucknow Super Giants mentor Gautam Gambhir's animated celebrations after their last-ball win against RCB at the Chinnaswamy Stadium earlier in the tournament.
Kohli celebrated each and every LSG wicket with extra aggression. Each of his gestures, mannerisms, and actions portrayed a thousand words. It was a Kohli that wanted fire.
Naveen and Kohli continued to argue as they shook hands. Later, Gambhir could be seen rushing in the direction of Kohli. Old friends and fierce opponents met face-to-face, and things would have been worse if it weren't for LSG captain KL Rahul, senior pro Mishra, and a few others.
Virat Kohli continues his tirade against Gautam Gambhir in a video
Virat Kohli expressed his gratitude to all the RCB fans who had an upper hand in the Stadium during the match which also played a role in motivating the players to give their best in a crucial match.
In a video posted by RCB on its social media handles, Kohli minced no words in an indirect message to his opponents or the ones who would to rile him or his team up.
"That's a sweet win boys! sweet win, Let's Go! If you can give it, you gotta take it, otherwise don't give it," he screamed in ecstasy after the win.
However, in the aftermath, Kohli and Gambhir copped 100% match fees fines while Naveen got 50% fine.
