Virat Kohli led RCB to victory with his half-century against PBKS in match 37 of IPL 2025.
Virat Kohli slammed a fabulous half-century to drive Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to victory against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in match 37 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The match was played on Sunday, April 20, at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Chandigarh. Kohli playfully teased PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer on the field after winning the match.
RCB crushed PBKS by seven wickets in the encounter. They chased down the 159-run target by seven wickets. Kohli scored an unbeaten 73 runs off 54 balls. The right-handed batsman won the player of the match (POTM) award. He also etched a 103-run partnership with Devdutt Padikkal for the second wicket. One down, Padikkal also slammed a half-century in the match.

The RCB opener teased PBKS skipper Iyer with a funny victory celebration after winning the game. However, both of them also shook hands after the incident. The video of the moment went viral on the micro-blogging platform X (formerly Twitter). Many cricket fans also reposted the video and reacted to it. Have a look at the video below.
Interestingly, Shreyas Iyer got out for just six runs in the match as PBKS failed to put up a powerful total on the board. They could reach just 157/6 in the first innings. No PBKS batter could score a half-century. RCB bowlers Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma picked up two scalps each, while Romario Shepherd got one wicket. Earlier, RCB won the toss and opted to bowl first in the match.
Meanwhile, the Royal Challengers have moved to the third spot in the IPL 2025 points table with 10 points after a victory over PBKS. On the other hand, the Shreyas Iyer & Co. take the fourth spot. They also have 10 points in their kitty.
Virat Kohli also jumped to the third spot in the Orange Cap Leaderboard. The former RCB skipper now has 322 runs in his kitty and is the leading run scorer for his team. After Nicholas Pooran and Sai Sudharsan, he is the third-highest run-getter in the season after the PBKS vs RCB game. He has slammed four half-centuries in IPL 2025 with a top knock of an unbeaten 73.
