Steve Smith has scored 2042 runs in 19 matches in test cricket so far against the Indian cricket team.

Veteran Australian cricketer Steve Smith stunned the cricket fans by picking an Indian cricketer who he wishes had played for Australia; his choice wasn’t either Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma.

Smith went for another Indian legend when he was asked which Indian player he would pick to add to the Australian cricket team.

The 35-year-old Kohli has a staggering record against Australia in test cricket: 2042 runs in 25 matches at an impressive average of 47.78. The right-handed batter has made eight centuries and five fifties against Australia till now.

On the other hand, the 37-year-old Rohit also had a decent record against Australia in the longest format. Rohit has played 12 games and scored 708 runs at an average of 33.71 against the Aussies. Rohit has one century and three half centuries to his name till now.

Even after performing well against the mighty Australia, Steve Smith snubbed both Rohit and Kohli and picked another Indian legend.

Steve Smith picks Sachin Tendulkar over Rohit and Kohli to have played for Australia

In a video shared by Amazon Prime Sports, the 35-year-old Smith was asked, “If you could pick any Indian cricketer to drop into the Aussie team, who would it be?”

In reply, the former Australian captain Smith picked legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. Smith even called Tendulkar an “absolute freak.”

Apart from Smith, several other Australian cricketers, including Mitchell Starc, Usman Khawaja, and Marnus Labuschagne, picked Tendulkar as their top pick.

Tendulkar had an impressive record against Australia in test cricket. The legendary cricketer played 39 matches and amassed 3630 at an admirable average of 55. The Indian legend recorded 11 centuries and 16 half centuries against Australia in tests.
