Virender Sehwag said that these three game-changers can win matches on their own.
Former India opener Virender Sehwag has named three game-changers for India in Asia Cup 2025. According to him, they can win matches on their own in the tournament, which will be played from September 9 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, are placed in Group A with Pakistan, UAE, and Oman in their pool. They will play their opening game against the UAE on September 10 in Dubai.
The Indian squad for Asia Cup was announced on August 19. While players like Shreyas Iyer and Yashasvi Jaiswal were overlooked for the tournament, Shubman Gill returned to the T20I side as the vice-captain.

Speaking to Sony Sports, Sehwag named Jasprit Bumrah, Abhishek Sharma, and Varun Chakravarthy as three game-changers for India during the tournament.
“I think Abhishek Sharma can be a game-changer. Bumrah is always a game-changer. Varun Chakravarthy, with his mystery bowling, was very effective in the Champions Trophy and in the T20 format as well. So, these are some game changers for India who can win matches on their own,” he said.
Notably, Chakravarthy played a vital role in leading India to victory during ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in March. The right-arm spinner has played 18 T20Is so far and picked 33 wickets at an average of 14.58 and an economy of 7.02.
Abhishek is expected to be one of the openers for India during the tournament. Since his debut last year, he has shown a wonderful form in the shortest format. With two centuries and an equal number of half-centuries, the left-handed batsman has amassed 535 runs in 17 games at a strike rate of 193.85.
Bumrah will lead India’s pace attack in Asia Cup 2025, and he is the most experienced bowler in the squad. Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana are the other two pacers in India squad.
