'Haar se jitane waale ko...,' Virender Sehwag praises Jasprit Bumrah with special tweet after IND vs PAK

Jasprit Bumrah bagged the Man of the Match award against Pakistan in New York for bowling figures of 3/14.

Jasprit Bumrah headlined the IND vs PAK clash at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 on Sunday, as the Men In Blue defeated their arch-rivals by only six runs in a last-over thriller in New York.

At the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, in Match No. 19 of the tournament, India successfully defended 119 runs to secure their second win of the competition and move closer to sealing a place in the Super 8 phase.

Bumrah returned with sensational figures of 3/14. He dismissed Babar Azam in his first spell in the powerplay. Then the fast bowler returned later in the innings to knock over Mohammad Rizwan before giving the killer blow to Pakistan with Iftikhar Ahmed’s wicket.

Bumrah has been getting praise from all corners of the cricket fraternity. Former India batsman Virender Sehwag took to Twitter to applaud Bumrah with a famous Hindi movie line.

Sehwag tweeted, “Haar se jitane waale ko Bumrah kehte hain. What a fabulous spell and a very special win in New York.“

India pulled off a spectacular win by defending 119 runs, which is the joint-lowest total successfully defended in a T20 World Cup game.

India captain Rohit Sharma hailed Bumrah as a “genius.”

Sharma said, “Bumrah is going from strength to strength. We’ve seen him over the years what he can do, I’m not going to talk too much about him. We want him to be in that kind of mindset till the end of the World Cup. He’s a genius with the ball, we know that, but hats off to the other guys as well.”

India’s remaining two Group A matches are against the USA and Canada.
