Virender Sehwag said that India have a right mix of young and experienced players in their squad.
Former India opener Virender Sehwag has backed the Indian Cricket Team to win Asia Cup 2025. He also heaped praise on Suryakumar Yadav for his leadership and said that the Men in Blue can dominate the Asia Cup once again.
Suryakumar Yadav will be leading India in Asia Cup 2025, and the squad features experienced members in Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav. Notably, Surya took over as India’s T20I captain last year after Rohit Sharma retired from the shortest format.
The right-handed batsman has held a wonderful record so far. Under his captaincy, India have won 17 T20Is out of 22 games and lost four matches, with one ending in a tie. India are the defending champion of the Asia Cup and will aim for their second consecutive title this year.

“This Indian team has the right mix of youth and experience, and under Surya’s fearless leadership, they can dominate Asia once again. His attacking mindset suits the T20 format perfectly, and if the team plays with the same intent, I have no doubt India can lift the trophy,” he said.
Sehwag recalled his memories of Asia Cup tournaments and said that he used to love the energy and excitement of fans inside the stadiums.
“One of my fondest memories of the Asia Cup is walking into the dressing room on match days and feeling the buzz even before stepping onto the field. You could hear the chants outside, feel the energy in every corner. I remember telling my teammates – today we won’t just play a match, we’ll give the fans a day they’ll never forget,” Shewag said.
