The Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 is delicately poised at 1-1 after the first two tests. India started the series with an impressive 295-run victory in Perth, but Australia bounced back in Adelaide with a 10-wicket win in the day-night test.
India’s batting has been a mixed bag so far. Yashasvi Jaiswal is India’s leading scorer, but even he has struggled for consistency. The southpaw has two ducks in four innings. The middle order, which has underperformed, will need to step up to provide runs for the bowlers.
Meanwhile, Australia, too, will look for more contributions from their batting lineup to avoid over-reliance on Travis Head, who has been Australia’s best batsman in the series so far
The action will now shift to Brisbane for the third test of the series. The last duel between the two teams at the Gabba saw the Indian team pull off one of the greatest test victories, chasing down 328 on a fifth day to break Australia’s 32-year unbeaten streak at the venue.
Adding more epicness to the heroics on the field, the moment was immortalized by Vivek Razdan’s iconic commentary line “Toota hai Gabba ka ghamand” as India sealed a famous win. The commentator recently threw light on his iconic commentary.

Reflecting on that moment, Razdan emphasized that his words were not just a piece of commentary but a feeling and outpouring of emotions.
The legendary Hindi commentator told ESPNcricinfo, “I am a big believer in destiny and I’m so grateful that I was doing that stint and I was there on the mic on that day, and luckily, with the blessing of the almighty, those particular words came to me. They weren’t words, they were a feeling and an emotion”
Razdan also noted that the problems caused by the Covid pandemic and the suffering added an extra layer of emotions to the victory.
He added, “Covid was there, people were suffering, you don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow. In that sort of environment, when somebody comes up like this and does what they did, it was unbelievable.“
