Asia Cup 2025: [Watch] Wanindu Hasaranga takes ‘catch of the tournament’ to dismiss Fakhar Zaman, replicates Abrar Ahmed’s celebration twice to mock him

In the first innings of the match, Abrar Ahmed mocked Wanindu Hasaranga by replicating his wicket celebration.

Sri Lanka Cricket Team spinner Wanindu Hasaranga came up with a magical effort with the ball in the game against the Pakistan Cricket Team in the ongoing Super Four game of the Asia Cup 2025. The match between the two teams is taking place at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. 

After posting a total of just 133 runs on the board, Sri Lanka are giving their best with the ball and in the field. One of the key architects behind that has been Wanindu Hasaranga, who is having a sensational game in all three departments of the game.

First, Wanindu Hasaranga came up with a magical catch in the field to remove Fakhar Zaman. He potentially took the catch of the tournament as the Pakistan batter looked shocked with many standing and applauding Sri Lankan star for his heroics.

On the last ball of the power play, Maheesh Theekshana bowled a delivery to which Fakhar Zaman played a shot towards extra cover. However, Hasaranga came up with a sensational effort as he plucked off a one-handed stunner. What caught the attention of many was his celebration after taking a wicket.

He came up Abrar Ahmed’s celebration, gesturing with his head to Zaman to walk off. This came after the Pakistan spinner replicated Hasaranga’s celebration after getting him out in the first innings.

If this was not enough, Wanindu Hasaranga came up with another mocking celebration. This came after he removed Saim Ayub with a peach and came up with a similar kind of celebration like he did after taking the catch. 

Hasaranga bowled a good length delivery, to which Saim Ayub expected the ball to spin in but it was a googly. The ball spun past the defensive outside edge to crash into the off-stump. After that, Hasaranga went towards Pakistan’s dugout and did Abrar’s celebration.
