[Watch] Arshdeep Singh starts with a bang! Castles Liton Das for 6 in warm-up game

Arshdeep Singh took two wickets in his first two overs in the warm-up game against Bangladesh.

India pacer Arshdeep Singh moved the ball significantly against Bangladesh in their warm-up fixture on Saturday ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The left-arm seamer accounted for the wickets of Soumya Sarkar and Liton Das in his first two overs as India started their defence of 182 with a bang.

India and Bangladesh met in their warm-up game on Saturday at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. The new ball troubled the opening batters of both teams because of the swing and seam movement available at the venue.

This is the ground where India will play their first three matches of Group A in the main tournament. So the movement that Arshdeep and the other pacers got in this warm-up game would excite the Indian pacers for their upcoming matches.

25-year-old Arshdeep Singh was given the first over ahead of seniors Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. He struck in the first over with the dismissal of Soumya Sarkar. The ball swung away from the left-handed batter and took his outside edge.

But the more thrilling dismissal came in Arshdeep’s next over, that of senior Bangladeshi batter Liton Das, with a terrific delivery. It was a back-of-length delivery from the left-arm pacer that pitched on the off-stump of the right-hander.

The ball snaked back in the line and went on straight, instead of going across as Liton was perhaps expecting, as can be observed with the line of his shot. The ball beat the inside edge of the bat and snuck in the bat-pad gap before hitting the top of the off-stump. Das was left stunned.
