Watch: Arshdeep Singh almost in tears after Rinku Singh hits him for four on last ball

Arshdeep Singh had 6 runs to defend in the final over against KKR at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
On Monday night in IPL 2023, Rinku Singh again emerged as the hero as the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in an astounding last-ball victory. The KKR needed 2 runs off the final delivery with Rinku on strike in order to reach the challenging 180-run target.
In an effort to reach 180, KKR captain Nitish Rana led from the front and scored 51 off of 38, Andre Russell 42 off of 23, and Rinku Singh 21* off of 10. For PBKS, Rahul Chahar claimed two wickets while conceding 23 runs in four overs. Harpreet Brar and Nathan Ellis both dismissed one batter.
The captain Shikhar Dhawan had already struck scored 57 runs in just 47 balls, and late contributions from Shahrukh Khan and Harpreet Brar helped the Punjab Kings to a solid 179/7. Rishi Dhawan scored 19 runs in only 11 balls, while Jitesh Sharma had a brief cameo with 21 runs in just 18 balls.
Varun Chakravarthy, who finished with 3/26 in four overs, was KKR's preferred bowler. Suyash and Nitish each took one, while Harshit took 2.
Arshdeep Singh almost cries after failing to defend 2 runs off the last ball
It was up to Arshdeep to stop those two runs and get as many points as possible for the Punjab Kings. However, the southpaw ultimately bowled a full toss that Rinku flicked for a boundary.
Both the KKR players and the home crowd in the stadium leaped from their seats in the dugout. One man, Arshdeep Singh, was left feeling defeated and utterly heartbroken amidst the jubilation.
The left-arm quick’s eyes filled up with tears and was hunched over in sadness. After failing to contain six runs in the final over, he was inconsolable. Russell was run out by Jitesh Sharma off the fifth delivery after he began with a dot ball, giving away just four runs.

On the sixth ball, however, he misfired and Punjab Kings were left thinking what could’ve been as a win here would’ve taken them to 3rd spot in the IPL 2023 points table.
