[Watch] Axar Patel knocks over Rohit Sharma with an arm ball in MI vs DC IPL 2024 clash

Rohit Sharma scored 49 before getting bowled by Axar Patel.

Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC) clashed in the 20th match of the IPL 2024. This match is being played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 7, 2024. The match is very important for both of teams as they are desperate for a win.

Delhi Capitals have won only one game in their four matches, while MI are languishing at the bottom of the IPL 2024 points table with three losses in three games.

Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and chose to bowl first. DC made two changes as injured Mitchell Marsh made way for Jhye Richardson, while Lalit Yadav replaced Rasikh Salam Dar in the playing XI.

Mumbai Indians (MI), on the other hand, also made a few changes. Suryakumar Yadav came back into the side in place of Naman Dhir. Romario Shepherd came in for Kwena Maphaka, while Mohammad Nabi replaced Dewald Brevis.

Rohit Sharma gets clean bowled by Axar Patel after giving MI a flying start

Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan opened the batting for MI and gave them a flying start. The duo added 80 runs in 7 overs and Rohit did the bulk of the scoring in the partnership. This included two consecutive sixes to DC debutant Jhye Richardson.

Rohit Sharma hit three sixes and six fours in his knock. However, on the last ball of the 7th over, Axar Patel managed to outwit the former MI captain. He bowled a quicker delivery which skidded after pitching on the surface. Rohit Sharma looking to play it off the backfoot, tried to poke at it.

However, the ball carried on with its line and clattered into the stumps, ending Rohit’s knock on 49 runs off 27 balls.
