Dipendra Singh Airee became third batter to smash six sixes in an over in T20I cricket.
Nepal all-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee etched his name in the history books as he became the third batter after legendary cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Kieron Pollard to smash six sixes in an over in T20I Cricket. The all-rounder achieved this achievement during ACC Menās Premier Cup clash against Qatar in the third T20I at the AI Amerat on April 13.
Batting first, Nepal reached 174/7 until the 19th over. However, in the final of the innings, with his team looking to post a good total, Airee unleashed his beast mode against Qatar medium pacer Kamran Khan.
Airee, who was batting on 28 runs off 15 balls, smashed six sixes all over the park in the 20th over as he ended on unbeaten 64 from 21 as the visitors finished their innings at 210/7.
On the very first delivery of the 20th over, he hammered a maximum over square leg. In the second ball, he played a helicopter shot over point and the ball sailed over the boundary ropes.
In the third ball, Kamran bowled a short delivery on off stump, which Dipendra hammered over square leg. In the fourth ball of the over, Airee played a helicopter shot over covers as the ball sailed away over ropes. He also reached fifty with that maximum. In the fifth delivery, he smashed the ball over the on-side. On the last ball, Airee smashed another six as he took his side to 210/7.
