[Watch] Hardik Pandya rattles Lorcan Tucker's middle stump with a sensational delivery

Lorcan Tucker managed to score 10 runs before getting clean bowled by Hardik Pandya.

India all-rounder Hardik Pandya struck with the third wicket of Ireland’s innings during the IND vs IRE encounter at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Rohit Sharma and Paul Stirling’s teams clashed on Wednesday at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York as both teams got their campaigns underway.

As anticipated after the South Africa vs Sri Lanka match, the surface in New York offered a significant amount of seam movement to the pacers. That was used effectively by Pandya to crash one of his deliveries onto the stumps of Ireland’s wicket-keeper, Lorcan Tucker.

Pandya got a wicket in his first over of the match. He came on to bowl in the seventh over of Ireland’s innings. On the fifth ball of the over, the right-arm seamer sent down a length delivery that pitched just outside the off-stump.

Because Pandya had bowled it with a straight seam, which was beautifully upright, the ball jagged a significant distance into the batsman after pitching. Tucker played a drive but his bat was nowhere near the ball that had moved into him. The ball went between the huge pad-bat gap and crashed into the stumps.

Pandya didn’t stop there. In his second over, the 30-year-old Baroda cricketer got rid of Curtis Campher. The pacer again used the seam movement available to his use. A length ball from Pandya that pitched just outside the off-stump moved a little away from the batter after pitching.

It took a thin edge as Campher defended on the initial line. Rishabh Pant made no mistake behind the stump. Hardik has figures of 2/13 after two overs as Ireland lost their fifth wicket.
