KL Rahul has looked comfortable behind the wickets so far in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Bangladesh got off to a good start against India at MCA Stadium in Pune but they lost their way after losing opener Tanzid Hasan. Bangladesh lost 4 quick wickets after a good 93 runs stand for the opening wicket by openers. Tanzid Hasan (51) and Litton Das (66) had a great partnership but India soon made a roaring comeback in the game. They got both openers, captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mehidy Hasan Miraz out in the next 44 runs.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz didn't look confident throughout his stay at the crease. Wicket-keeper KL Rahul took a screamer to dismiss the Bangladeshi all-rounder for just 3 runs. Mehidy Hasan Miraz was in defensive mode and looked stuck at the crease in his short 13-ball stay. He also added extra pressure on his partner to look for rotation of strike. KL Rahul’s agility became viral and contributed to one of the finest catches in the World Cup 2023.

Mohammed Siraj had a newly added weapon in his armory and he is using it wisely in the World Cup 2023. Siraj delivered his new variation cross-seam delivery to Mehidy Hasan Miraz that shaped into him and was going down the leg stump. Miraz tried to poke it for a few runs but KL Rahul made a great effort behind the wicket to take a screamer and dismiss the Bangladeshi all-rounder early in his innings.

Wicket-keeper KL Rahul looks fully fit and his efforts have become a lot better from the Asia Cup 2023. Rahul’s agility looks impressive in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 and he was also awarded a gold medal in fielding efforts inside the Indian team camp after the Pakistan game. Rahul’s judgment on variations also made him look more comfortable behind the wicket. Mohammed Siraj has also used his cross-seam deliveries for great benefit.

Bangladesh are back on the road to recovery and one of the most experienced batters is on the crease. Mushfiqur Rahim is fighting it out against Indian bowlers. Bangladesh are playing without Shakib Al Hasan who missed this game due to a quad injury. Shakib Al Hasan complained about the trouble after the New Zealand game in Chennai. In his absence, Najmul Hossain Shanto is leading the Bangladeshi side.
