[Watch] LSG's Mayank Yadav clocks 155.8 KMPH; Fastest delivery of the IPL 2024

Mayank Yadav registered a three-wicket haul on his IPL debut for LSG.

Uncapped speedster Mayank Yadav marked his debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), facing off against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on March 30.

The 21-year-old young gun showcased his talent with raw pace and accurate line and length right from the start, clocking an impressive 140kmph in his maiden IPL over against the veteran duo of Punjab openers Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow while defending 200 runs.

Meanwhile, during the 12th over of the match, debutant Mayank Yadav registered the fastest ball of the 2024 edition, clocking a staggering pace of 155.8 KMPH while delivering to PBKS captain Shikhar Dhawan.

During his spell he claimed a three-wicket haul, which includes – Jonny Bairstow (42), Prabhsimran Singh (19) and Jitesh Sharma (6). His impactful spell of 3/27 in four overs helped the hosts to bounce back in the game after a stunning opening partnership from Dhawan and Bairstow.

Hailing from Delhi, the right-arm fast bowler Mayank has previously represented his state in domestic cricket. The 21-year-old Mayank has played 10 T20s and picked up 12 wickets. While in List A cricket, he has taken 34 wickets in 17 matches. Across formats, he has scalped a total of 46 wickets, underlining his potential as a rising talent in the cricketing arena.
