Ravindra Jadeja scored 22 off 16 deliveries against GT in the Qualifier 1 of IPL 2023.
Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) clashed in the IPL 2023 Qualifier 1 at the M Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 23, 2023. It is the battle between the no.1 and no.2 in the points table after the league stage ended.
GT had finished on the top spot in IPL 2023 points table with 10 wins and 20 points in 14 matches, while CSK had 17 points from 8 wins and one no result in 14 matches.
Hardik Pandya landed the first blow as the GT captain won the toss and chose to bowl first. There was one change made by GT, as Darshan Nalkande replaced Yash Dayal in XI. CSK on the other hand, were unchanged.
CSK openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway got off to a cautious start. They picked up speed as Ruturaj looked in excellent form and Conway struggled to find his rhythm. Gaikwad had reached 60 in 44 balls with 1 six and 7 fours at the score of 87 before top-edging a short ball off Mohit Sharma and being caught at long off by David Miller.
CSK’s most in-form and dangerous batsman, Shivam Dube, entered the fray, and much was anticipated of the left-hander who has been hammering sixes right-left and center. However, Noor Ahmad ended his stay with a brilliant googly, clean bowling him for 1.
Then, Ajinkya Rahane and Ambati Rayudu both fell for 17 runs each as the experienced duo failed in their attempt to accelerate in the fag end of the innings.
