Watch: Rahul Tewatia fails to sizzle in Qualifier as he gets clean-bowler by Maheesh Theekshana
Maheesh Theekshana picked 2 wickets against Gujarat Titans in the Qualifier 1 of IPL 2023.
On May 23, 2023, the Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) faced off in the IPL 2023 Qualifier 1 at the M Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
GT finished first in the IPL 2023 points table with 10 victories and 20 points in 14 matches, while CSK ended second with 17 points from 8 wins and one no result in 14 matches.
CSK batted first after Hardik Pandya won the toss and chose to bowl first. Ruturaj Gaikwad had scored 87 after reaching 60 in 44 balls with 1 six and 7 fours before his dismissal after adding 87 runs for the first wicket with Devon Conway, who struggled to get rhythm.
Conway still managed to score 40 runs and with Ravindra Jadeja making 22 in 16 and Ajinkya Rahane and Ambati Rayudu both making 17 runs, CSK managed to post 172/4 in 20 overs.
For GT, Mohammad Shami and Mohit Sharma took 2 wickets each.
In reply, GT opener Shubham Gill was once again the best batter for his side as he slammed 42 with 4 fours and 1 six. Wriddhiman Saha fell for 12 runs and he was then followed by Hardik Pandya (8) and Dasun Shanaka (17).
David Miller followed for 4 and next was Rahul Tewatia for 3 runs.
Tewatia was bamboozled by the CSK spinner Maheesh Theekshana, who bowled a brilliant wrong’un, which came back into the left-hander. Rahul didn’t read the delivery, which snuck past him and disturbed his timber.
