Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma got dismissed for just 3 runs against Rajasthan Royals.

It was not a special birthday with the bat for Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma. Rohit in a bizarre manner got out cheaply against Rajasthan Royals. While chasing 213 against the Royals, Rohit was expected to provide Mumbai Indians with a good start. Rohit’s departure put Mumbai in trouble with a big score already in their mind. This was also a milestone game for Rohit Sharma as a captain. Against Rajasthan Royals, Rohit Sharma completed his 150th game as a captain in the Indian Premier League.

In the second over, Sandeep Sharma gave a setback to Mumbai Indians with his knuckle ball. Rohit Sharma was completely stunned, he made room and took position to hit Sandeep over the cover but Sandeep’s knuckle delivery made him leave his shot halfway. This gave the ball a chance to go on disturbing Rohit’s off stump. Everyone was surprised by the way Rohit got out. He was back in the dugout with just 3 runs scored. Sanju Samson was also standing up close to the stumps giving only little movement in the crease. This also put a burden on Rohit’s foot movement with the shot he was trying to attempt against Sandeep Sharma.

With Rohit Sharma leaving early, Rajasthan Royals had the chance to grip the game. But Mumbai Indians middle order did well enough to remain in the chase. Ishan Kishan (28) and Cameron Green’s (44) 76 runs partnership for the second brought them back into the game. Earlier Yashaswi Jaiswal’s century helped Rajasthan give a mammoth 213 runs target to Mumbai Indians. Jaiswal scored 124 runs in 62 balls.
