Kolkata Knight Riders opener Jason Roy could only score 10 runs against RR.

Rajasthan Royals' pacer Trent Boult has kept his consistency of picking up early wickets intact in the IPL 2023. Once again he provided an early breakthrough for his team. Kolkata Knight Riders' opener Jason Roy lost his wicket in Boult’s second over to a brilliant catch taken by Shimron Hetmyer at deep square leg. His effort in the boundary line gave Royals an early relief. The Kolkata opener is having a good time in the IPL 2023 and played a crucial knock in their previous game against Punjab Kings. Roy in almost every game he played has scored above 20 runs this season. For Rajasthan Royals Roy’s wicket was an important one to start the inning.

Shimron Hetmyer takes a screamer

In the second over of Trent Boult, Jason Roy tried to play a lofted flick shot towards deep square leg. Ball was almost cruising to the boundary where Shimron Hetmyer, with his jump, plucked a ripper. Hetmyer had to run to his left and when the ball dipped to his catchable height, he leaped in the air and took a magnificent catch. Hetmyer is someone who is always agile in the field and batters have found it tough to go past him. Roy could only manage to score 10 runs in 8 balls with 2 fours in his short stay at the crease.

Trent Boult sent Roy’s partner Rahmanullah Gurbaz (12) back into the hut in his next over, he was caught by Sandeep Sharma at mid-off. Rajasthan Royals have got off to a great start against Kolkata Knight Riders. After losing three back-to-back games, the Royals are in dire need of a win. Rajasthan with a win here will again pull back themselves in the playoff race. A loss against KKR will put them under big pressure for the upcoming few games. Royals captain Sanju Samson won the toss and he invited KKR to bat first at Eden Gardens.
