India's tour of West Indies 2023
Watch: Virat Kohli catches up with Brian Lara ahead of his 500th international match

The second WI vs IND Test match will be played in Trinidad from July 20 onwards.
Two legends of the game, Brian Lara and Virat Kohli were seen greeting and chatting with one another ahead of the second and final Test between West Indies and India which will be played from July 20 onward at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port Of Spain, Trinidad.
This will be a landmark game for Virat Kohli as this will be his 100th international match for India. The right-hander made his Test debut in 2011 against West Indies, his T20I debut against Zimbabwe in 2011, and his ODI debut against Sri Lanka in 2008.
He will become only the fourth Indian cricketer to reach this milestone, joining Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, and MS Dhoni, when the second Test begins at the Queen's Park Oval in Trinidad. Thus far, Kohli has made 8555 runs in 110 Tests with 28 centuries to his name.
In 274 ODIs, Kohli has 12898 runs to his name with 46 centuries, and in 115 T20Is, Kohli has 4008 runs with one century to his name.
Kohli, who was dismissed for 76 in the first Test in Dominica, may reclaim his Test average of 50 if he can score at least 345 runs in both matches.
Brian Lara and Virat Kohli meet and chat briefly ahead of the second Test between West Indies and India
As Kohli prepared for his landmark match in Trinidad, he caught up with West Indies great Brian Lara, famously known as 'The Prince of Trinidad’.
Lara was on the phone with someone when he noticed Kohli approaching, so he extended his arm and shook hands with him. The two then hugged before having a brief conversation while Lara held his phone to his left ear. Kohli went upstairs after a couple of 'thumbs up' gestures, while Lara returned to his device.
Recently during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series at home, Kohli left behind Lara to become the second-highest Test run-scorer against Australia. Furthermore, in 2019, Kohli surpassed both Lara and Sachin Tendulkar to become the quickest batter in international cricket history to score 20,000 runs.
