Jos Buttler scored 34 runs before getting clean bowled by Yash Thakur.

In match No. 44 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) young pacer Yash Thakur bowled a fantastic delivery as he removed dangerous Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener Jos Buttler for 34 runs at the BRSABV Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on April 27.

After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, Lucknow captain KL Rahul smashed a 48-ball 76 while Deepak Hooda played a crucial knock of 50 runs as LSG reached a challenging total of 196/5. However, while chasing 197, Royals openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler gave the visitors a perfect start as they reached 50 runs in just five overs.

With the hosts needing a desperate wicket, Yash Thakur came into the attack to bowl the sixth over. In the very first ball, Buttler hammered him four a four and showcased his intention clearly to unsettle Thakur. However, in the fifth ball of the over, the right-arm speedster took his revenge as he uprooted Buttler’s leg stump with a terrific delivery.

The Royals opener shuffled a long way across the stumps, and he missed a low full toss that was angling towards the leg stump. Buttler departed after smashing a quick-fire 18-ball 34, including four boundaries and one six, during his stay at the crease.
