Wayne Parnell named MS Dhoni as captain of his all-time ODI XI team.
Former South Africa pacer Wayne Parnell has picked his all-time ODI XI and named three Indian players in his team. The 36-year-old also picked three Pakistan players and two Proteas stalwarts in his team. Parnell named MS Dhoni as the skipper of his all-time ODI XI, which he revealed during a conversation with CricTracker.
For the openers, he went ahead with Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar and former Proteas opener Hashim Amla. With more than 18,000 runs in his kitty, Tendulkar is the all-time highest run-scorer in One-Day Internationals. Amla (27) holds the record for most ODI centuries for South Africa.
In the middle-order, Parnell picked Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Michael Hussey. With 51 tons, Kohli owns the record for most centuries in ODIs. AB de Villiers is the second-highest run-scorer for South Africa in the 50-over format.

He picked Shahid Afridi as a spin all-rounder and Dhoni as wicket-keeper and skipper. Both Afridi and Dhoni were dangerous finishers in their prime. In the pace department, Parnell inducted former Pakistan legends Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis.
The third pacer is former Australian speedster Brett Lee, who helped Australia to win the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2003. Former Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralitharan, the all-time highest wicket-taker in ODIs, found a place as a spinner in Parnell’s all-time ODI XI.
