West Indies schedule for ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 - Timings, dates, venues and all you need to know

The West Indies will play their first ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 match on October 4.

The ninth edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will be played from October 3 to October 20 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Earlier, the tournament was scheduled to be played in Bangladesh. However, due to the ongoing nationwide protests in the country, which have taken a violent turn, the International Cricket Council (ICC) decided to shift the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 to the UAE. The Bangladesh Cricket Board, however, has retained the hosting rights of the tournament.

The Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 will feature 10 teams. They are divided into two groups of five each. Each team will play four matches in their respective groups. The top two sides of each group will advance to the semi-finals. The finalists will compete on October 20 in Dubai for the ultimate glory.

The West Indies won their maiden ICC Women’s T20 title in 2016 defeating Australia in the final. In the upcoming tournament, the Women in Maroon will look to add another silverware to their cabinet.

West Indies schedule for ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024:

The West Indies will play their opening fixture in the Women’s T20 World Cup against runners-up South Africa on October 4 in Dubai before meeting Scotland on October 6 at the same venue.

Their third group stage is against Bangladesh in Sharjah on October 10. West Indies’ last group stage match is against England on October 15 in Dubai.
