The IND vs ENG semi-final is slated for June 27 in Guyana.

The start of the IND vs ENG semi-final 2 in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 has already been delayed by an hour at the time of writing.

The semi-final 2 of the tournament, between Rohit Sharma’s Indian team and Jos Buttler’s defending champions England, is being played on Thursday at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

There are some playing conditions and rules about the match being affected by rain that the fans need to know.

Firstly, there is no reserve day for the IND vs ENG semi-final. The officials will try their best to get a result on Thursday itself, and for that, the ICC has allotted a significant amount of extra time.

The India vs England semi-final had a scheduled start time of 10:30 AM local time, which is 8:00 PM IST. If the start of the match is delayed or the game gets interrupted by rain, even then the ICC has given an additional 250 minutes to continue with a full 20-over-per-side match.

That is the cut-off time for a full game is 2:40 PM local time, which is 12:10 AM IST on June 28. It means that the officials will start cutting down overs only if the match doesn’t start at 12:10 AM IST.

What is the cut-off time for the IND vs ENG semi-final to be called off?

A minimum of 10-over-per-side contest needs to be played in the semi-finals and final. For the India vs England semi-final 2, the cut-off time for the match to be called off is 4:14 PM local time, which is 1:44 AM IST on June 28.

Also, even after adding so much time the match ends in a no result, then India will advance to the final because they had finished on top of their group in Super 8 while England finished second in their group.
