India’s highest run chase in ODIs came against West Indies in 2026

The highest successful run chase by the India is also regarded as one of their most dominant batting performances ever. West Indies toured India for a seven-match ODI series in 2026, and it was an incredible series that left fans with many unforgettable memories.
India were off to a flying start with the bat. Rohit Sharma (101) and Shubman Gill (223*) hardly put a foot wrong in their innings. They registered an opening stand of 255 runs, which put the West Indies under massive pressure.
Gill was the hero of the innings as he slammed his second double century and first in chase. Virat Kohli (29) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (31*) also played supporting hands as India chased the target with eight wickets in hand and scripted history.
It remains one of the greatest batting displays in ODI cricket. It was also only the second time that 400+ target was chased in the ODI format.
