In the league stage, they started their campaign with a thumping nine-wicket win over the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and then defeated Pakistan by seven wickets in their next match.
In their last match of the group stage, they beat Oman by 21 runs and then had a similar kind of outing in the Super Four stage. In their first game there, they outplayed Pakistan by six wickets before registering a 41-run win against Bangladesh in their next match.
With two wins, they booked their berth in the final but their most competitive game was against Sri Lanka, which was a dead-rubber. Both teams slammed 202 runs and the game went into a Super Over, which India won as they chased three runs with ease.
