PBKS have now lost four consecutive games in IPL 2026.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) made a brilliant start to their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 campaign. The team won six of their first seven matches including one abandoned match due to rain. They quickly became one of the strongest sides in the tournament. Their attacking batting and fearless cricket helped them stay unbeaten for a long period in the season.
However, things have changed in the last few matches. PBKS have now lost four games in a row. The defeats have slowed their momentum at a crucial stage of the league. Despite the poor run, the side is still in the race for the playoffs and remains among the top four teams on the points table with 13 points.
The Shreyas Iyer-led side will now aim to return to winning ways in their upcoming matches. PBKS still have enough quality in their squad to make a strong comeback before the knockout stage begins.
Punjab Kings have struggled badly with the ball during their recent losing streak. Their pace attack, led by Arshdeep Singh and Marco Jansen, has leaked runs regularly. PBKS have already conceded 200 or more runs seven times this season. Their pace unit also has the worst economy rate among all teams.
Fielding has become another major concern for the franchise. PBKS have dropped several easy catches this season. Their catching efficiency is the lowest in the tournament. Shashank Singh alone has dropped five catches. These mistakes have cost the team heavily in close matches.
The batting unit has also slowed down after an explosive start. Openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh started the season strongly, but the consistency has been on-and-off in recent games.
One Punjab Kings player gains more than 10kgs, others refuse to come for practice – Report

A fresh report from Revsportz has added more concern around the team environment. The report claimed, “One of Punjab’s top-order batters has gained 10 kg in weight.” The report didn’t reveal the name of the player.
The report also revealed, “Until 8 AM in the morning, players (a few) would play games and then refuse to come for practice.”
Another shocking update from the report stated: “Need to inform 4 days in advance while mentioning when the one arriving will leave (if someone’s coming into the room)”.
Recently, there was also buzz around PBKS banning players from making vlogs. The franchise reportedly wants all content to be uploaded only through their official social media platforms.
As per reports, after the loss against Delhi Capitals, PBKS team management did not discuss much about the player’s vlogging issue since it was previously discussed.
