The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 gets underway on March 28 with over two months of action lined up for cricket lovers. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has put out the schedule for the opening 20 fixtures to kick things off. 

Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the curtain raiser at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Talking about Rajasthan Royals (RR), they will begin their campaign on March 30 when they take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at ACA Stadium in Guwahati. RR are looking to bounce back after a disappointing last season, where they finished 9th in the table. The franchise made huge trade before the season, which bolsters their squad and make them favourites to win.

They traded their captain Sanju Samson to the CSK in exchange for Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran. With Samson gone, the RR appointed Riyan Parag as their new captain as they chase their second IPL title after winning the inaugural edition back in 2008.

BookMyShow and Zomato’s District app to provide match tickets for IPL 2026

The BCCI has announced BookMyShow and Zomato’s District app as the official ticketing partners for IPL 2026. For fans, it should be worth noting that exact sale dates haven’t been confirmed yet but both platforms have already started pre-sale registrations for selected matches. 

The demand for IPL tickets in India always outstrips supply, so fans need to be quick once bookings open. You can purchase tickets either online through these apps and their websites. Official team websites will also become active ticketing channels once the booking window opens.

Steps to buy RR match tickets online for IPL 2026

• Visit BookMyShow (bookmyshow.com), the District app (by Zomato), or RR’s official website.
• Head to the official IPL or BCCI ticketing website and use the match date or team name to find the IPL 2026 game you want to attend.
• Once you find your match, pick the seating category that works for you and use the stadium map to choose your exact seats.
• Add the tickets to your cart and move to checkout when you are happy with your selection.
• Pay using whatever works best for you, whether that is a credit card, debit card, UPI, net banking or a digital wallet.
• Once payment goes through, your ticket will land straight in your registered email inbox or on your mobile number. Save it and you are good to go.

Steps to buy RR match tickets offline for IPL 2026

• Head to the nearest authorised ticket counter at the stadium or a designated retail outlet. These locations are usually announced on the team’s official website, so keep an eye out.
• Once you are there, check what is available for the match you want to attend and pick the seating category that suits you.
• Make sure you carry a valid photo ID with you. An Aadhaar card, PAN card or passport works just fine.
• Talk to the ticketing staff, choose your seats and confirm your selection with them directly.
• Pay however you prefer, whether that is cash, card or a digital wallet.
• Once the transaction is done, collect your ticket right there on the spot and you are all set for matchday.
