Rohit Sharma got out for a six-ball duck in the first NZ vs IND ODI.

Star batter Rohit Sharma had a poor start to the five-match ODI series against New Zealand. The former Indian captain was dismissed for a six-ball duck in the second innings at Eden Park in Auckland.

He was dismissed on the last ball of the first over of the chase. Kyle Jamieson dismissed him the third time in six ODI meetings. It was a fullish delivery, which moved a touch. Rohit couldn’t time the shot as he would have liked and chipped the ball in the air.

Kiwi captain Mitchell Santner took a brilliant catch at mid-off. This ended Rohit’s 39-innings streak in this format. It was Rohit’s first ODI duck (dismissal for zero) since 2023.

His last ODI duck came against Australia in Chennai, during the first match of the 2023 ODI World Cup. Josh Hazlewood dismissed him for a six-ball duck.
