Revealed: When Mustafizur Rahman will play his last match for CSK in IPL 2024

CSK’s highest wicket-taker of IPL 2024 so far Mustafizur Rahman will not play the entire tournament.
In a significant development, defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will miss the services of their star overseas pacer Mustafizur Rahman for the remaining Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season according to a report.
In the ongoing 17th edition of the IPL, Mustafizur has played five games and picked up 10 wickets till now with a BBM of 4/29. His economy is 9.15, with a good average of 18.30.
Currently, Rahman is the third-highest wicket-taker in the IPL 2024 Purple Cap leaderboard. He has also taken the most wickets for the CSK and behind him is young pacer Matheesha Pathirana.

The Bangaldesh Cricket Board’s Cricket Operations chairman, Jalal Yunus, confirmed that their ace pacer, Rahman, has been allowed to extend his IPL 2024 contract with CSK. It is to be noted that Mustafizur was granted NOC till May 1 and was scheduled to return to his home country on May 1 ahead of the five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe.
However, five-time champions CSK have their match against the Punjab Kings on the very same day. Jalal added that Fizz will play the IPL 2024 match against PBKS, then take the flight and return to his home for the upcoming BAN vs ZIM T20I series.
“Mustafizur was supposed to return on May 1 but CSK have a match on that day and we have allowed him to play the match and then return,” Jalal told The Daily Star.
How many matches will CSK play before Mustafizur Rahman goes back to Bangladesh?
Before Mustafizur returning to Bangladesh, Chennai will play four IPL matches. CSK will play against Lucknow Super Giants on April 19 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Then they will face the same opponents at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on April 23.
In their next two matches, CSK will host Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings at home on April 28 and May 1 respectively.
