India started the UK tour with a lot of changing and chopping in the squads. After suffering a whitewash in Ireland, India suffered another clean sweep in T20Is at the hands of England.
Though Team India lost the ODI series against England, but it was a hard-fought battle. Eventually, England won the series 2-1, but India showed improved performance compared to T20Is.
Ben Duckett’s record-breaking century at Lord’s and match-winning spell by Sam Curran turned the game in England’s favour. India lost the match by 27 runs and also lost the series. However, it’s a high-scoring game, and a total of 747 runs were scored.
England posted a mammoth total of 387 runs. Duckett scored 141 off 135 runs and added 192 runs for the first wicket with Bethell (91 off 93). Joe Root scored 74* off 48 balls, while Jos Buttler played a cameo of 41* off 13 balls.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli had good performances in the recently concluded ODI series in England. In fact, in the final ODI at Lord’s, these two almost took India home, along with captain Shubman Gill.
Rohit struck his 34th ODI ton and scored 138 runs off 110 balls with 17 fours and five sixes. Virat scored his 79th ODI half-century and made 74 off 60 balls with four fours and three sixes. But these innings went in vain as India fell short by 27 runs, finishing at 360/7 in their chase.
With the Indian tour of England over, Indian fans will have to do a long wait to see Virat and Rohit back in action. India’s next ODI series will be against West Indies at home in September-October. These two sides will play three ODIs in Trivandrum, Guwahati, and New Chandigarh, respectively.
Though before that, India will play three T20Is in Zimbabwe and two Tests in Sri Lanka. But these two are retired from these formats. Hence, the next ODI game for India is scheduled to begin on September 27.
India will also play five T20Is against West Indies between October 6 and 17, before traveling to New Zealand for a multi-format series between October and November. India will play two tests, five ODIs, and five T20Is in New Zealand.
