The Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 will begin on December 24.

Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 is set to commence on December 24, with a total of 32 teams battling for the trophy. India’s domestic one-day cup tournament will start on December 24 and witness the final on January 18. All 32 teams are part of the Elite Group.

Fans are expected to show great interest in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy as renowned Indian players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are set to participate in it. The BCCI has requested every member of the national team, except for the two superstars, to participate in this event, provided they are fit.

Both Rohit and Kohli have had success in ODIs in 2025. They performed admirably against South Africa and Australia. Kohli performed well throughout the competition, and Rohit guided India to a historic third Champions Trophy victory.

According to the ICC Batting Rankings, Rohit is the top batter in ODIs, while Kohli is ranked second. Both Kohli, who is 37, and Rohit, who is 38, have played international cricket for 17 and 18 years, respectively. They currently only play ODIs after retiring from Tests and T20Is.

An international goodbye will accompany an ODI retirement. Both are excited to travel to South Africa for the 2027 ODI World Cup.
