India recently completed a disappointing tour of England.
India have been involved in a busy stretch of international cricket, with the national team featuring across formats in recent weeks. The Men in Blue recently concluded their ODI assignment in England, where they played a three-match series against the hosts.
As the England tour comes to an end, fans have already shifted their focus to India’s next international assignment. The selectors have rotated the squad once again, with several young players getting another opportunity for the upcoming tour.
India have packed international schedule in 2026, featuring in bilateral games across formats as the team continues to prepare for upcoming ICC events.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has lined up another overseas assignment shortly after the England series. While senior players are rested, the next tour will allow emerging stars to gain valuable international experience.
When will India next play cricket?

India’s next international assignment will be their tour of Zimbabwe, where they will play a three-match T20I series against the hosts. The series is set to begin on July 23, 2026, and all three matches will be held at Harare Sports Club.
As has been the case in recent tours to Zimbabwe, India have picked a relatively young squad as they have given a chance to many IPL performers and fringe players to establish their place as the international calendar looks busy ahead.
Zimbabwe, on the other hand, will attempt to leverage their home advantage against the visitors. In fact, Zimbabwe have improved quite a bit in the format, and they will try their best.
India have enjoyed a commanding record of 11-3 against Zimbabwe in T20Is over the years and will head into the series as favourites. However, Zimbabwe will be eager to make home conditions count and produce a strong performance against one of the world’s leading white-ball sides.
