When will Super 8 round of T20 World Cup 2026 start?

Eight teams are divided into two groups of four teams in the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2026.
The countdown for the Super 8 of the T20 World Cup 2026 has begun as all the teams for the next round have been finalised. A total of eight teams will battle in the Super Eight stage, out of which four will bag a berth in the semi-finals.
As per the tournament format, the eight teams are divided into two groups of four teams each in Round 2 (Group 1 and Group 2). Each team will clash with the other members of their group once, playing a total of three matches. Therefore, a total of 12 matches will take place in the next round.
After the completion of the league stage, India and Pakistan have qualified for the next round from Group A. Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe are from Group B, while the West Indies and England have booked berths from Group C. South Africa and New Zealand have qualified from Group D.
In the Super 8, West Indies, India, Zimbabwe, and South Africa are placed in Group 1. On the other hand, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, New Zealand, and England are in Group 2.
When will the Super 8 Round begin?

Super 8 of the T20 World Cup 2026 will begin on February 21 (Saturday) with the match between Pakistan and New Zealand. It will be the 41st match of the tournament, scheduled to take place at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
The last encounter of the Super Eight will be between India and West Indies at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, which will be the 52nd game of the ICC tournament.

After the Super 8 round, two semi-finals will be played on March 4 and 5, followed by the summit clash on March 8. If Pakistan reach the final, it will take place in Sri Lanka.
