Macneil Hadley Noronha has joined the CSK squad as a replacement for Ramakrishna Ghosh.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are placed in the fifth spot in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 and are looking forward to making it into the playoffs. The Ruturaj Gaikwad & Co. have three more games left in the tournament and if they win all of them, they will be able to reach playoffs.
Having won six games and lost five out of 11, Chennai are placed in the 5th spot in the points table with 12 points. They will clash with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their next match on May 15, followed by matches against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans.
Ahead of their last three matches, the Men-in-Yellow took a massive step and named a replacement for injured Ramakrishna Ghosh. He played just one game against Mumbai Indians, where he sustained an injury and was later ruled out of IPL 2026.
The franchise, as per the reports in Times of India, has added Macneil Hadley Noronha into the setup, and this made many fans wonder about who actually is he.
Who is Macneil Hadley Noronha?
Noronha is a 24-year-old batting all-rounder who represents Karnataka in domestic cricket. He has played three T20 matches for Karnataka.
Macneil impressed with his performance in CK Nayudu Trophy 2024-25, scoring 1037 runs in 14 innings at an average of 79.77. He hammered three centuries and two fifties, out of which, two were triple centuries.
In Maharaja T20 Trophy 2025, he scored 253 runs in 13 matches at a strike rate of 148.82 for Mangaluru Dragons. He also hit 19 sixes in the season and picked 10 wickets at an economy of 7.44.
Notably, Noronha has never played in the IPL and will might make his debut in the 2026 season.
