In the 15th match of the Indian Premier League 2026, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) were chasing a target of 182 runs while playing against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens on Thursday, April 9. Openers Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh lost their wickets in the power play, while Rishabh Pant and Nicholas Pooran also failed to play a stable innings.

Due to losing wickets at regular intervals on one side, LSG were falling behind the required run rate. Ayush Badoni scored 54 runs off 34 deliveries, anchoring the innings but failed to take his team home. In 13 overs, Lucknow lost five wickets at the score of 104 and KKR looked favourite to win.

Mukul Choudhary came to bat at No. 7 as Lucknow’s last hope, and he did not disappoint. The 21-year-old played an unbeaten 54-run knock in 27 deliveries, where he hit two fours and seven maximums while maintaining a strike rate of 200.

LSG required 14 runs to win the last over, which was bowled by Vaibhav Arora, who dismissed Lucknow’s opening pair in the power play. However, Mukul gave a gallant display of his prowess, making the game a last-ball thriller while scoring two maximums in the 20th over and steering the LSG to their second win of the season.

Choudhary’s exceptional performance under pressure has made him the talk of the town on social media and among all cricket followers.
