Shashank Singh made quite a name for himself in the recent IPL 2024 match for Punjab Kings (PBKS) against Gujarat Titans (GT). This match was played on April 4, 2024, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Shashank Singh and the IPL 2024 fiasco involving Punjab Kings
Shashank Singh was the center of attention during the IPL 2024 auction as the Punjab Kings (PBKS) had reportedly made a significant blunder during the auction on December 19 by purchasing the ‘wrong player,’ whose name was also Shashank.
By the time they recognized their mistake, the bid had already been completed, and the auctioneer refused to reverse the decision.
The untested Indian youngster, Shashank Singh, was the focal point of this pandemonium, which PBKS accidentally purchased for a base price of Rs 20 lakhs after the team messed up the player’s name during the Dubai auction.
During the expedited round, auctioneer Mallika Sagar announced and called out the name of Shashank, a 32-year-old Chhattisgarh domestic cricketer.
However, later it was revealed by the franchise that they bid for the correct Shashank Singh they wanted to buy at the auction.
Meanwhile, Shashank Singh played a blinder for PBKS against Gujarat Titans as his unbeaten fifty took Punjab to an exciting win in a difficult situation. He remained unbeaten on 61 in 29 balls with 6 fours and 4 sixes and took his team past the finish line.
