Pakistan didn't have a great start, and they lost their top three wickets for just 38 runs. Then, Saud Shakeel (68) and Mohammad Rizwan (68) added a 120-run stand for the fourth wicket to take the team back in the game. In the end, Mohammad Nawaz (39) and Shadab Khan (32) played some good innings to take the score past the 250-run mark.
Who is Vikramjit Singh?
Pakistan got all out for 286 runs in 49 overs, and for Netherlands, Bas de Leede took 4/32 and Colin Ackermann finished with 2/39. Now Netherlands will now begin their chase, with Vikramjit Singh and Max O'Dowd at the top. Vikramjit is one of the youngest players participating in his tournament. The 20-year-old was born in Cheema Khurd, Punjab, in India; he moved to Netherlands at the age of 7.
His grandfather had a transport business in Amsterdam, where he was raised. He spent his initial career with local club VRA, under former Dutch skipper Peter Borren. He later led VRA Club at the age of 19 and became the youngest captain ever for the club in its 135-year history. By then, he was a T20 specialist who liked to take on the opposition from the start.
Vikramjit Singh made his international debut in September 2019 against Scotland. His first ODI was against New Zealand three years later, in March 2022. He has now become a key member of the team and was one of the reasons that Netherlands finished second in the World Cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe. Vikramjit Singh has played 25 ODI innings so far and has scored 808 runs at an average of 32.32, with 110 as his best. He has also scored four half-centuries in his short career so far.
