Another pace bowler from Jammu and Kashmir has made his debut in the Indian Premier League. 25-year old Right arm pace bowler, Yudhvir Singh Charak has made his debut for Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2023. Yudhvir Singh has come in place of Jaydev Unadkat at Ekana’s green top wicket. Yudhvir Singh Charak has become the fourth player from the state to represent a team in the Indian Premier League. Before him, Abdul Samad, Parvez Rasool, and Umran Malik played in the IPL. Lucknow Super Giants are taking on Punjab Kings.
Who is Yudhvir Singh Charak?
Right arm pace bowler Yudhvir Singh represents Jammu and Kashmir in the Indian domestic circuit. Previously he represented Hyderabad as well. He has played 4 First Class, 8 List A, and 14 T20 games in the Indian Domestic circuit. Yudhvir Singh was also part of the Mumbai Indians setup. In 2020, he was part of the MI as a net bowler and later in 2021, MI bought Yudhvir for 50 lakhs. He did not get any chance to play for MI. In the next Mega Auction, Lucknow Super Giants invested 20 lakhs on him. He finally got his chance against Punjab Kings.
Yudhvir Singh in his 4 First Class games picked up 3 wickets. He has only 4 wickets in 14 T20 games and 13 wickets in 8 List A games in his domestic career. After Umran Malik, Yudhvir has an opportunity to become an IPL sensation from Jammu and Kashmir. Umran Malik is currently part of the Indian team and is also in competition for the big ICC Cricket World Cup in 2023.
Lucknow Super Giants have won 3 games out of the 4 they have played this season. They have an opportunity to go top of the table once again if they manage to defeat Punjab Kings on Saturday night.
