Delhi Capitals (DC) are clashing with Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on May 11. DC captain Axar Patel won the toss and chose to field first in the encounter, which is taking place at HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.
It is a do-or-die clash for Delhi Capitals as a defeat will push them out of the playoffs race. At the toss, Patel informed that they have made five changes to their playing XI.
Amongst the changes, Madhav Tiwari was one. He warmed the bench in all the previous games of IPL 2026. However, DC gave him a chance against Punjab Kings, which is his second game in the IPL.
The young pacer impressed with his performance in the PBKS vs DC clash. He troubled PBKS batters with his line and lengths. He also clinched the crucial wickets of Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly in the first innings.
Who is Madhav Tiwari?
Madhav is a 22-year-old pacer from Madhya Pradesh, who bowls right-arm medium pace. He is known for his raw pace with the ability to swing the ball both ways and aggressive batting in the lower-order. He was bought by DC for INR 40 lakh ahead of IPL 2025.
He made his IPL debut in a clash against the Mumbai Indians in the 2025 edition, the only game he featured in the tournament. He got out for three runs in the match and did not get a chance to bowl. However, year later, he bagged his maiden IPL wicket by dismissing Priyansh Arya in the PBKS vs DC clash.
Tiwari is yet to make his senior First-Class or List-A debut for his domestic team Madhya Pradesh. However, he has represented them at the Under-19 and Under-23 levels.
He impressed with his batting in the CK Nayudu Trophy 2024-25, scoring two half-centuries. He is a crucial member of Bhopal Leopards in the Madhya Pradesh T20 league.
