Revealed: Who presented Riyan Parag his maiden India cap on T20I debut

Riyan Parag became first player from the state of Assam to represent India in international cricket.
It was an emotional moment for Riyan Parag when he made his T20I debut for the Indian cricket team during the first match of the five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club in Harare on July 6.
In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Parag played 16 matches and amassed 573 runs including four fifties for Rajasthan Royals (RR). The right-handed batter Parag helped the Royals qualify for the playoffs of the 2024 edition.
After performing brilliantly in the IPL 2024, Parag received his maiden T20I call-up for the Indian national side by the Indian selectors for the five-match T20I Zimbabwe series. The exciting series, which kicked off today, will conclude on next Sunday, July 14.

Ahead of the first T20I match against Zimbabwe in Harare on July, the Assam-born cricketer Parag received his maiden T20I debut cap from his father.
Interestingly, Parag Das, who is the father of Riyan, represented Assam in First-Class (FC) cricket. Riyan became the first player from Assam to play an international match for the Indian cricket team.
