Who has replaced Nitish Reddy in India squad for ENG vs IND ODIs?

Nitish Reddy was ruled out of England ODIs due to a left quadriceps injury.

Indian Cricket Team are clashing with England in a five-match T20I series, with three still left to be played. The first match was washed out due to rain, while England won the second T20I to gain a 1-0 lead in the series.

After the conclusion of the T20I series on July 11, both sides will clash in three-match ODI series. The opening game will take place at Edgbaston in Birmingham on July 14, while the second and third encounters will be played on July 16 in Cardiff and July 19 at The Lord’s, respectively.

Ahead of the ENG vs IND series, India suffered a big blow as Nitish Kumar Reddy, who was part of the both T20I and ODI teams, was ruled out due to injury, which he sustained in ODIs against Afghanistan last month.

Reddy was replaced by Suryansh Shedge in the T20I series against Ireland and England. However, BCCI has named someone else as his replacement for the England ODIs.

Shivam Dube replaces Nitish Kumar Reddy in the ODI squad against England

BCCI has named all-rounder Shivam Dube as the replacement for Reddy in India’s squad for the ODI series against England. Dube has been a regular member of the T20I side for the last couple of years but has played only a limited number of games in the 50-over format.

So far, the batting all-rounder has featured in four ODI matches, with his last appearance in August 2024 against Sri Lanka.

“The Selection Committee has named Shivam Dube as a replacement for Nitish Kumar Reddy in India’s squad for the ODI series against England,” BCCI said in an official statement.
