Also, he was out of the T20I team for almost one and a half years before the World Cup, having last played in the T20I series against Sri Lanka in July 2024. Although Siraj was the most successful bowler in the previous game with three wickets, he might be sidelined in tonight’s encounter.
Moreover, Arshdeep has been a regular pacer for India for the last few years. With 120 wickets, he is the most successful bowler for India in the shortest format. Being a left-armer, he also provides variation to India’s pace attack. Hence, he is likely to be retained in the playing XI even after Bumrah’s return.
