Virat Kohli played a major role in RCB winning the IPL 2025.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli has come under massive scrutiny after the conclusion of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The batter has faced a lot of criticism and this comes after the tragic stampede incident that took place in Bengaluru.
After RCB won the IPL 2025, the franchise decided to celebrate the win in a grand way back home. They flew from Ahmedabad to Bengaluru and planned a victory parade followed by celebrations at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, which is their home ground in the league.
However, their celebrations didn’t go the way they would’ve wanted, and it turned into a horrific event. As lakhs of people gathered outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, the cases of stampede came and saw fans of the RCB losing their lives due to the same.
As many as 11 people lost their lives, and more than 20 people got injured too. But what was shocking was even after that the celebrations continued at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. This saw the franchises, as well as players, facing a lot of criticism.
Why is #ArrestKohli trending on X?
While the franchise has been facing a lot of criticism, the Karnataka government also ordered the police to arrest the event manager and vice president of the franchise. But, even more than that, Virat Kohli has come under massive scanner amid the stampede case.
#ArrestKohli has been trending on X (formerly Twitter) as well as fans have turned their back on the premier batter. This is because Virat Kohli flew back to London just a day after the stampede cases and didn’t even give compensation to fans who were there to see him. Some users on X have even blamed the star RCB batter for the sad incident. Notably, the batter stays in London with his family.
This is how people are reacting to it:
Virat Kohli played a major role in RCB winning IPL 2025. He was the leading run-getter for his team in the tournament as he slammed 657 runs at an average of 54.82 to go with eight fifties. The Rajat Patidar-led side beat Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final to lift the title.
