Why is Arshdeep Singh not playing ENG vs IND 1st ODI?

Arshdeep Singh played in all five ENG vs IND T20I games.
India will leave no stone unturned to outplay England in the ODI series following their debacle in the T20I campaign. The Men in Blue suffered a humiliating whitewash in the five-match series 4-0, including one washed-out game.
Now, under the captaincy of Shubman Gill, India are taking on England in three ODIs. The ENG vs IND 1st ODI is taking place at Edgbaston, Birmingham on July 14.
Harry Brook won the toss and chose to bat first in the encounter. At the toss, Shubman Gill revealed India’s playing XI. Pacer Arshdeep Singh is not part of the match. He featured in all five T20I games against England.
Why is Arshdeep Singh absent from the ENG vs IND 1st ODI?
Notably, Arshdeep Singh has been overlooked for the encounter. Since the left-arm pacer lacks experience in the 50-over format, India have benched him from the clash.
Gurnoor Brar, Jasprit Bumrah, and Prasidh Krishna are three pacers in the playing XI, alongside seam all-rounder Shivam Dube.
Moreover, India have backed two spin all-rounders in the playing XI- Axar Patel and Washington Sundar. Hence, Arshdeep could not get a spot in the current combination.
Notably, Gurnoor made his ODI debut in the series against Afghanistan last month. With seven wickets in three games, he finished as the highest wicket-taker in the campaign. Hence, Shubman Gill & Co. have preferred him over Arshdeep in the first ODI against England.
Arshdeep was picked in two ODIs against Afghanistan and picked five wickets at an average of 14.40. So far, he has featured in 17 ODIs and accounts for 30 wickets in his kitty.
Revealing the playing XI at the toss, Shubman Gill stated, “We have got Virat Bhai, Rohit Bhai, KL and Boom (Jasprit Bumrah) back in the squad. So the experience is going to be massive for us. So apart from the usual, we have got four seamers, with Dube, and then we’ve got two spinners, Axar and Washi.
