India and Afghanistan are clashing in the 3rd and final ODI of the ongoing series. The clash will conclude Afghanistan’s tour of India 2026, which comprised a one-off Test and three ODIs. India were unbeaten in the first two games and aim for a clean sweep against the visitors in the final ODI game.

India won the opening encounter by seven wickets via the DLS method after rain affected the toss and the match was shortened to 25 overs per side. The second clash took place in Lucknow, where Shubman Gill & Co. crushed Afghanistan by 170 runs.

The IND vs AFG 3rd ODI is taking place at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Afghanistan won the toss and opted to bat first. At the toss, Indian skipper Shubman Gill revealed that India have made three changes to their playing 11.

Notably, pacer Arshdeep Singh is not part of the 3rd ODI against Afghanistan. He played in the last two matches and also impressed with his performance.

Notably, India have rested Arshdeep Singh and replaced him with Prasidh Krishna in the playing XI. Krishna warmed the bench in the previous game but has been given an opportunity in the final clash. Gurnoor Brar and Prince Yadav are the other two pacers in India’s playing XI.

Speaking about the playing XI, Gill informed at the toss. “We’ll be chasing in this match, and chasing big scores consistently and comfortably is one area where we haven’t quite ticked the box yet. That’s what we’ll be looking at today. Three changes. Prasidh, Harsh and Nitish Reddy are back,” he added.

“Looks like a very good wicket. Would’ve batted first as well. Was pretty hot in the last match and it’s going to be no different here. It’s about being consistent in the areas we’re looking at,” Gill said after losing the toss.

India’s Playing XI: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill (C), Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan (WK), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar, Harsh Dubey, Gurnoor Brar, Prasidh Krishna, Prince Yadav.
