Why are Ayush Badoni & Mukul Choudhary not playing LSG vs RCB clash of IPL 2026?

Ayush Badoni and Mukul Choudhary were also absent from LSG’s previous game.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are taking on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in match 50 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The encounter is taking place at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on May 7.

It is a do-or-die clash for LSG as they need to win to remain active in the race to the playoffs. Out of nine games so far, the Rishabh Pant & Co. have won just two games and lost seven. With four points, they are placed at the last spot in the points table.

On the other hand, RCB are placed in the third place with 12 points, winning six and losing three out of nine. They can grab the top spot in the points table if they win tonight’s clash.

In the 50th match of IPL 2026, RCB skipper Rajat Patidar won the toss and opted to field first. While RCB did not make any changes to their playing XI, LSG made three changes.

Josh Inglis, Mohsin Khan and Avesh Khan were not part of the clash. Arshin Kulkarni, Digvesh Rathi and Shahbaz Ahmed were added to the side. Notably, Ayush Badoni and Mukul Choudhary were absent from their playing XI once again.

Choudhary and Badoni have been overlooked for the clash once again due to their poor form. In their previous game against the Mumbai Indians, they were dropped and replaced by Josh Inglis and Akshat Raghuwanshi. Inglis is missing tonight’s game due to injury but Raghuvanshi has been preferred once again.

Mukul has scored 156 runs in eight games at an average of 31.20 and a strike rate of 145.79, including one unbeaten half-century.

Badoni played in eight games, scoring 172 runs at a poor average of 21.50 and a strike rate of 140.98. The right-handed batsman scored a half-century against KKR, but failed to go big in other matches. He was used as an impact player in most matches.
