Why is Bharti Fulmali not playing IND-W vs NED-W clash in the Women's T20 World Cup 2026?

Bharti Fulmali played in India’s last game against Pakistan.
The Indian Women’s Cricket Team are playing their second match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 against Netherlands at Headingley. They had a triumphant outing against Pakistan on June 14.
Harmanpreet Kaur lost the toss, and India were put to bat first by Netherlands. They announced two changes in the side, with Yastika Bhatia and Nandini Sharma replacing Bharti Fulmali and Arundhati Reddy, respectively.
At the toss, Harman said:
“I think it’s a very great opportunity for us to bat first because it’s a little hard condition due to the overcast weather, but I think we want to bat first and we wanted to challenge ourselves.”
She added that, “I think it’s about sticking to your own plans and batting as deep as possible because in these conditions you can’t start hitting from the very first ball. You really need to spend some time at the wicket and then you can take the game ahead. I think that is the key, and hopefully we will bat well.”
With India’s focus on batting well especially in the powerplay, and overall in the game, they have made one significant change of dropping Bharati Fulmali and bringing in Yastika Bhatia in her place.
Why did Bharti Fulmali miss IND-W vs NED-W clash?
Bharti Fulmali had featured in the match against Pakistan on June 14, but she could not make her outing with the bat count, as she scored only one run.

On the other hand, India have brought in Yastika Bhatia in her position. She had a great T20I series against England, where she scored 30+ in all the three innings, including a half century.
Harmanpreet Kaur at the toss talked about India are aiming to improve their bowling and batting in the powerplay. And for the same reason, Yastika has been brought in the side. Moreover, India have solid finishers in Richa Ghosh and Deepti Sharma who can do the job for the team.
India, after their first win of the tournament, will aim to win by a big margin in the second match and be in a comfortable position on the points table. They have fixtures against South Africa, Bangladesh and Australia after this encounter.
